Did you also experience that rhythmic power watching the Queen's funeral?

Did you also experience that rhythmic power watching the Queen's funeral?

This Monday I learned something I never expected.

The power of marching! The purpose of visual rhythm! ?

I never knew marching in time was so therapeutic to watch.

I never thought that there was so much comfort and satisfaction in it.

Today someone told me they decided to catch a bit of the Queen’s funeral and then carry on with their day. They started at 12:30 and watched till 5. They never expected that to happen. They loved it.

I had to pull myself away or I would have done the same. (Well done to all who made the Queen's funeral so outstanding. It was a fitting farewell.)

What struck me was how powerful the visual and auditory input was in the marching. ?How it calms us. How it settles our souls. How it energizes us.

No wonder marching is used to move troops large distances when it has to be done on foot.

?

How much could routine and rhythm settle our crazy busy lives?

How could it help us build better businesses and lead better teams? ?

James Clear in his seminal book takes about the power of habits. They bring rhythm and consistency to our lives. Empowering habits bring freedom not boredom.

He says “you don’t rise to the level of your competence, you sink to the level of your systems”

We are made to have a daily rhythm, a monthly rhythm, a yearly rhythm…

What about using the power of rhythm in our teams, in our recruitment, to build a business?

The daily grind is not about healthy rhythms that help us be more effective and efficient. The daily grind is joyless, never-ending work that is chaotic.

Rhythm through the right systems brings joy.

Strike up the band in our organizations. Let’s use the power of consistent actions that steadily lead to a clear destination.

I realized have hugely underestimated the power of rhythm in business.

How do you use the power of routine, movement, and sound to empower your people?

How can you improve your recruitment and team positioning using repeatable processes and systems? ????????

If your recruitment and team positioning process is not bringing consistent results and giving you joy, let's have a chat.

Hi Mark....if you look at armies around the world (except S.A) rhythmic marching signifies the beating of one heart, the heart of the nation each soldier has undertaken, to defend. I too was captivated by the unison. Especially the Royal Navy pulling the wagon with the coffin on...they never missed a step. It was a send off..fit for a Queen.
