?? Did I Just Get Hypnotized? Exploring Hypnosis for Public Speaking Anxiety.

When you hear the word "hypnosis," do you think of stage performances or mind control?

I did too, until I learned how powerful and practical it can actually be.

Many of us struggle with public speaking because of deeply ingrained fears like:

• “What if I mess up?”
• “I’m not good enough.”
• “They’ll judge me.”

Hypnosis works by accessing the subconscious mind, where these beliefs live, and replacing them with empowering thoughts like:

• “I’m prepared.”
• “I’m capable.”
• “I can connect with my audience.”

Here’s how hypnosis can help you:

1. Reduce anxiety – It calms your nervous system, reducing physical symptoms like sweating and a racing heart.
2. Build confidence – It helps replace self-doubt with self-belief.
3. Strengthen focus – It allows you to stay present and engaged with your audience instead of worrying about what might go wrong.

Over the past few years, I’ve learned to open up to alternative approaches to health and growth. Western medicine worked well during the easier times, but when I faced tougher challenges with my mental health, I had to dig deeper.

That’s when I started exploring:

• Meditation retreats
• Plant medicine (Ayahuasca)
• Yoga
• Hypnosis

Each modality has helped me in unique ways. Hypnosis is the one I’ve just started learning about, and my gut tells me it’s a lot like meditation—if that’s true, I’m all in.

In fact, I explored hypnosis firsthand on my podcast in an episode with Mark Kemp, where we talked about the science of hypnosis. He even hypnotized me, or did he?

The goal was to help me build more confidence and take my podcast to the next level.
