More than ever people are rushing through life with the motto, “Bilisan mo, sayang ang panahon!”?
Gusto nila yumaman before 30, dapat may kotse or motor agad, dapat LV ang bag, Rolex ang relo, may Macbook, iPad, Iwatch pa. Many feel they are failures pag wala nito.
Maski sa Christian community, I hear people say, “Bilisan mo, babalik na si Jesus!”
Recently napatanong ako, bakit ba tayo nagmamadali? Have you ever heard God say, “Uy, bilisan mo! Sayang ang panahon. Nagmamadali ako!”
Sa Bible ba, did you ever see God rush? Wala. Instead, He takes his time to implement His plans.
God called Abraham when he was 75 and promised to give him a son. But God waited until he was 100 years old before Isaac was born. Moses was ready to lead Israel out of Egypt when he was 40, having been educated in all the learnings of the Egyptians and being well-connected. But God only called him when he was 80, noong simpleng shepherd na lang sya. God had David anointed as king when he was 16 but waited until he was 30 before He gave him the throne.
Why did He not rush? Did He not know na sayang ang panahon? Bakit? Did he lack the power to do things earlier??
God did not rush, not because He was not able. God did not rush because they were not ready.?

If God had given Abraham a son when he was 76, Abraham would have been a terrible father. He was a liar and a bad example to Isaac.?
If God made Moses lead Israel when he was 40, he would have been a very arrogant leader, who would not listen to the Lord.?
If God made David king when he was 16, he would have failed because he did not know how to lead an army kasi ang alam lang nya is mag-alaga ng sheep.
God did not rush because He knew that if He gave them His blessings too early, His blessings would have become their curse.?
Parang si Steve Jobs lang yan. In the beginning, the rise of Apple was astronomical. The engine behind its growth was a young passionate Steve Jobs. But he was very arrogant and selfish, so the Apple board fired him. He had to lie low for many years and the experience humbled him. When he was asked to come back to Apple he was a humbler man who was willing to listen to the people around him. What happened to Steve Jobs is an important reason why Apple has become the most valuable company in the world.?
Kung si God hindi nagmamadali, bakit ikaw hindi makapaghintay? Supposing nakuha mo gusto mong yaman habang bata ka pa, are you ready for the responsibility that comes with it? Alam mo ba na if your character is not ready, the riches will curse you?
Sa internet, we see a lot of young people na biglang yumaman. Pero bigla rin silang nawala. Yung yaman nila ang sumira sa kanila. On the other hand, we see people like the Sy and Gokongwei families who took time to build their wealth. They do not boast of their riches, but continue to grow their wealth because they allowed time to develop their character.
Sana ikaw rin.

4 个月A good read and great perspective! I'd like to contribute my thougths po: I think this 'rushing' is causing a lot of burnouts for my generation. Dinagdagan pa ng social media yung already big expectations from family and elders. We burn ourselves out hoping that it'll get us there faster, but get dissuaded when the results doesn't come fast enough. I'm slowly coming to terms with accepting that: set backs and taking breaks are both OK. ??
