Intuit is one of the largest providers of accounting and tax preparation software in the world. With products like Mint, TurboTax and QuickBooks, Intuit's goal is to “simplify the business of life”. In efforts to reduce spending around a mostly idle infrastructure that is primarily used during tax season, Intuit decided in 2011 to dip their toe into the public cloud. With TurboTax AnswerXchange as the first targeted app to move, the benefits were almost immediate. Costs cut by 6x, 1/5th of the setup time and much improved agility for developers. As result, Intuit moved over 33 applications, 26 services and 8 enabler tools, this includes all of their mobile services and even Mint.com. Their cloud first strategy has now positioned them to move quicker, innovate faster and reduce costs...
