With only 28 days left before the deadline for SIM registration, the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) is urging all unregistered citizens to act now and register their SIMs as soon as possible.

According to the latest statistics released by major Public Telecommunication Entities (PTEs) — DITO Telecommunity Corp., Globe Telecom Inc., and Smart Communications Inc. — as of March 28, 2023, the number of registered SIMs are as follows: DITO – 4,074,477; Globe – 22,168,561; and SMART – 27,281,690. This brings the total number of registered SIMs to 53,524,728, which is 31.68% of the 168,977,773 million subscribers nationwide.

However, the DICT also warns the public to be aware of entities that may try to take advantage of the impending deadline by offering assistance with SIM registration. Some may pose as authorized representatives of the government or PTEs, but may have malicious intentions to steal personal information and commit fraud.

"As we approach the April 26 deadline for SIM registration, we urge all unregistered citizens to register their SIMs as soon as possible to avoid the inconvenience of deactivation. At the same time, we caution the public to remain vigilant against entities that may take advantage of the deadline to scam people by offering assistance with SIM registration. Your safety and security are our top priorities, and we will continue to work with PTEs to ensure that all SIMs are registered and verified," said DICT Undersecretary and Spokesperson Anna Mae Y. Lamentillo.

The DICT reminds the public to register their SIMs with their respective PTEs and to be vigilant as they complete the registration process. It is crucial to register through official links of PTEs to avoid fraudulent activities such as scams and identity theft.

Register only through the official links of PTEs:

? SMART - smart.com.ph/simreg or simreg.smart.com.ph

? GLOBE - new.globe.com.ph/simreg

? DITO - https://digital.dito.ph/pto/download/app

For complaints and concerns related to SIM registration, the public may contact the hotline 1326. For more information about the SIM registration process, the public may visit the DICT website. You may also reach the DICT through these numbers:
