The Diary ... no scratch that ... The Mindset of a Leader
I read recently:
"Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind."
For leaders looking to be transformed by the renewing of their mind, I'm 100% all in on that focus as well.
Here's what I've been pondering:
How do I build true, genuine, authentic, deep confidence as a leader?
And numerous aspects come to mind right away.
But one crucial piece to inner confidence is the ability to answer the question:
Who Am I?
Here's the hard truth: If you don't answer "Who am I?", the world will answer it for you.
Our character isn't meant to fit someone else's mold. Every trait we have - even the "inconvenient" ones - serves a purpose.
Our deepest character traits, our inner wiring, our design, our personality, our values - all were created with a purpose.
And we have the opportunity to be explorers of that on a daily basis.
So here are a few prompts to help you answer the question "Who Am I?"

Think of your proudest moment at work. Don't focus on what you did. Focus on WHO YOU WERE in that moment. That's your authentic leadership style emerging. The one that feels natural, not forced.
Ask yourself "How are people different after working with me?" The answer reveals your unique leadership fingerprint.
Reflect on some of your peak emotions. For example: what frustrates you most? That frustration can point to a deep inner value of something you believe is worth fighting for.
If we have a foundation of clarity on who we are, then we can lead from that place.
We no longer need to strive to show up as someone else.
We can fully embrace our own character and allow that identity to be the solid foundation to stand on and move from.
I've recorded two podcasts to help drive this conversation.
The first podcast dives into this question of Who Am I.
The second podcast is a guided visualization to help you answer this question.
Cheers!
