"DIARY OF A FALLEN IDOL"
After reading this article in The Sunday Times, 17 January 2021, it has again made me wonder how many of our sports people find themselves in the same predicament.
How many of the youngsters that starts a professional sports career, earning heaven knows how much think about a time when the taps have closed and that income no-longer exists.
When they join the various sports clubs or are lucky enough to receive a placing oversees think or are guided to ensure that they think of their and their families future when these "salaries" are done.
I blame the various sports associations, clubs, managers and agents because you should look after these players because without them, you won't be there. Don't be greedy.
What these associations/federations, clubs, managers and agents should look into joining forces and look at maybe, housing, pension funds, etc.
I post this form a property point of view and say that the organizations mentioned should look at joint ventures with property developers and consultants to acquire property to assist these players to buy property for the future.
Think people don't be short-sighted.
