"Diana is a health care angel"

Congratulations to Diana Regoli, RN, 5SW, our DAISY Award recipient for December! She was nominated by a patient who wrote about the exceptional care received from our nursing staff during a recent hospitalization, Diana in particular:

"I just want to thank all of the nurses for all of their help and care. It is very hard to be hospitalized and away from your family on top of dealing with sickness and pain, but the staff has made me feel like they genuinely care. Although everyone has done a great job, one nurse in particular was Diana. She was assigned to me three or four times and each time she treated me as if I were her own family. She made sure we built rapport and I felt like she had my best interest at hand. She made sure I was comfortable and included me in my medical decisions and medical attention. Diana is a health care angel. She was put here for this position and I believe she was meant to be in health care whether she set out his path for herself or she just ran into it and it fit. My mother was a nurse for 35 years and was seldom praised for her effort and true care and passion for her job. I didn't want to miss the opportunity with Diana to thank her and pass along how much I appreciate her care, effort and passion for what she does. She should be an example for everyone in the health care field."

Congratulations, Diana, and thank you for your compassionate care of this, and every, patient! Your actions truly exemplify the power of presence.
