Diamonds As Brilliant Investment

Diamonds As Brilliant Investment

Everlasting and tremendously valuable: jewels fascinate not only thanks to their sparkles, but also due to being an attractive investment opportunity - of course if lovers are aware of a few rules when purchasing.

With an ingenious advertising campaign in the fifties the diamond company De Beers succeeded to convince Americans to the merits of its products: diamonds as the sign of everlasting love.

Particularly large and magnificent stones are appreciated as works of art. These include, for example, the Hope Diamond, which can be admired in Washington in the Smithsonian Institution, the Koh-i-Noor, which is held by the British Crown Jewels in the Tower of London, or the Wittelsbach Blue, which once graced the Bavarian royal crown.
But today many people delight valuables for quite different reasons  - they consider gems as an investment. Diamonds are not only rare, but also harder than all other minerals. Similar to Gold Gems they promise a more tangible price performance than changing shares, questionable derivatives or subprime mortgages.

The Flemish metropolis Antwerp  has always been international diamond center;  New York, Tel Aviv and Mumbai, the former Bombay,  play in the second division. The deposits of diamonds are limited worldwide. Much like gold, the production capacity can hardly be increased. Therefore, the prices are expected to develop sustainably. Diamonds are perhaps not always a sign of inviolable love; but they can help to bring some stability to the depot.

This circumstance and the fact that gems are not subject to wealth tax and are hardly affected by inflation, deflation or devaluation, makes it so particularly attractive as anonymous material assets investment!

Of course, gems can and should represent only a part of the investment portfolio, not everyone can or wants to invest in real estate, antiques, works of art, besides the international stock exchanges and financial markets are unlikely to be regarded as a safe haven. Even gold, the "crisis currency Nr. 1" has experienced strong downward trend after a record high in 2012.

Buyer should in any case ensure that the gems is going to move in a price range which can be classified as a resalable within the upper middle class.

As a potential buyer of precious stones, you should invest your money only after getting the advice from an independent party and getting reports from a renowned institute. This includes not only the detailed description and graduation but usually also a professional valuation of the market value.

In our world of Financial and banking international problems, and with the debt, it is necessary for everybody to build a part of his wealth in physical assets, as art, gold, diamonds, real estate. So your idea to propose jewels is a good idea. Anyway, if we don't have diamonds for investment, to have jewels for investment is a good first action!!
