Dialogue holds a lot of importance in focussed communication. It is an excellent tool for effective people engagement and change action initiation. It is imperative to understand how dialogues helps spur action thereby understanding and addressing problems and initiation of exchange of thoughts and opinions . This exchange of information usually happens in literary or theatrical forms and invites exchange of perspectives, turn by turn unfolding of what they think about a particular problem or what their purpose is for coming onto a platform for a dialogue.
Philanthropic organizations, Climate Forums, Organizations that work in Climate and Sustainability space and many other multiple stakeholders are actively working towards initiation of Dialogues around Climate Justice, how and in what manner the solutions can be found out to mitigate the effects of Climate change. In a way these Dialogues are essential, because until a solution is worked out, world targets on NetZero or Climate Mitigation Actions can never be chalked out. These meaningful discussions, detailed responses, open ended questions helps bring plausible solutions on the table. These effective responses are learnings which helps organizations and individuals work on bringing effective and implementable solutions.
According to World Bank Report on Climate Change, Effective climate change dialogue can produce a range of proposals and strategies, including: ? Voluntary actions by the private sector and other key actors for mitigation and adaptation; ? Legal and regulatory reforms to accelerate innovation (for example, the removal of fossil fuel subsidies and the adoption of carbon pricing); ? Incentivizing public-private partnerships (PPPs); ? Rewarding good practices, while discouraging bad practices; ? Providing access to finance for large and small businesses as well as for citizens; ? Developing strategies to encourage the efficient management of resources; ? Strengthening governance; and ? Influencing positive behavioural change among both businesses and consumers. Dialogues are already underway in the climate change space. In this context, public-private dialogue (PPD) is a proven tool for positive change, with a long track record of success in developing countries.
