Insulin is a hormone secreted by the pancreas; a small gland located behind the stomach. When the blood sugar level rises in the body, pancreas triggers a response to create insulin. Which then allows for the glucose to be taken in by the cells in the body. Insulin production stops once the blood sugar levels have been regulated.

What is the role of Glucose?

Glucose is a source of body energy, it can be produced and utilized in the liver or it could be broken down in the body into simpler carbohydrates. Such glucose intake happens through food. Liver stores the food as complex glycogen and breaks it down when the body needs energy.
