What you should know about Yocto

Yocto, or rather Yocto Project is a platform for the uniform development of embedded Linux systems and one of the most popular build frameworks for building your own Linux distributions. It is based on OpenEmbedded, a collection of meta-information and configuration files used to build a Linux image or software package for a specific device. Yocto breaks down new distributions into so-called "recipes" and is very flexible to use. This means that projects can be perfectly tailored to the customer and updates or change processes can be implemented quickly and automatically. The open source idea is always in the foreground and developers can fall back on already existing "recipes" and adapt them if necessary.

What our developers have learnt

During the training, the topic of Yocto Project was addressed at different levels. It started with a refresher on the basics. Here, above all, the addition of self-built software, as well as the conversion of existing recipes was dealt with. Afterwards, there were some useful tips and tricks to work even faster and more efficiently with Yocto. We look forward to implementing what we have learned for the benefit of our customers!
