DFE LAUNCH LONG TERM STRATEGY FOR CHILDREN'S SOCIAL CARE - BUT WHAT'S MISSING?

This week the Department for Education launched a?long-term strategy to?fix children's social care, intended to transform children’s social care through long term planning that put families at the heart of reform.?The FED believes that long standing problems can only be solved through long term solutions, and we welcome this approach by Government.?However, long term strategies and plans in the English education system can only be long term if they have cross-party political backing.

A long-term planning framework that puts this approach at the heart of solving long term intractable issues is needed to provide long term success.

We are delighted to announce that we are commencing our FEDSpace Roundtable events in February on 'SEND – immediate ideas for long term gain?'?and?'Before it’s too late: How can we revive and restore creative and technical subjects in the secondary curriculum?'.?

Alongside our two upcoming?FEDSpace events, we are thrilled to announce that we will be holding our?3rd National Education Summit. On the back of our two previous successful events,?Building Forward Together?and?Widening the Lens, we will be hosting a two day summit in June (date to be confirmed). We are finalising the details, however this year we thought we would do it slightly differently and host one day in person and one day online.

Keep watching this space for when we release the tickets.
