As rugged device specialists when we see new devices come out, it tends to be another biggish device designed to brave the the more challenging external working conditions. With DeWalt we were hoping for more and were not disappointed.
There are a number of regular features such as an IP68 rating making the device waterproof (30 minutes up to 2 metres), dust-proof plus an MIL810G rating which in this case were tests by dropping it onto concrete from 2 metres and temperature tests between -20 and +60 degrees.
There is a good 13MP camera, dual SIM and expandable memory up to 64GB and it is 4G capable.
For me what set the DeWalt MD501 apart from the rest was the huge 3950 mah battery, a screen that can be used with gloves and a current operating system in Android 5.1. Not forgetting that wireless charging has also been added.
With a quality build that you come to expect from DeWalt I can see a queue forming from the trades guys to get their hands on one of these.
See you next time.

8 年The MD501 looks great on paper so it will be interesting to see how robust and reliable they have made the device in practice, in my experience the backup support and ability of the device to stand up against its competition when deployed in to the tough world it purports to fit will be the test of its success
