Devotion to the Resurrection
The core of our faith, the foundation of which is stands or falls is the Resurrection, "If Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile, and you are still in your sins."? (1 Corinthians 15:17). In it is the proof that Jesus Christ was truly God and truly Man. In it is a rebirth, a new creation, and the conquering of death. A devotion to the resurrection, is not a devotion of a resurrected Jesus on a cross; but rather, a devotion to a blank canvas in the tomb, a new garden of paradise, wounds that are now redemptive and a reconciliation of a fallen leader (Peter). This devotion is made manifest by a sending forth -- to carry any cross emboldened and empowered by the Holy Spirit who continues to refresh, renew, restore, and quench the thirst of every person in every culture and generation.
Behold, I make all things new. Revelation 21:5
The spirituality of the Catholic entrepreneur and innovator comes alive when rooted in this very verse: "Behold, I make all things new." Catholic innovators will find comfort, strength and perseverance in a deep devotion to the Resurrection.?
What is the meaning of "new?" In this case, it has to do with a new heaven and a new earth, a new creation and that at our baptism we are infused with God's grace and become a new creation. It is this that makes the work of the innovator resonate with the idea of St. Augustine "so ancient and so new" (Book X of Confessions).?

Not only is this a spiritual principle, but is the key hermeneutic and lens of which a Catholic entrepreneur works and breaths.
There is no Resurrection without Paschal Mystery. In the Eucharist, we find Christ's passion, death?and?resurrection. In reflecting upon the Resurrection, how could one not reflect on Christ's passion and death. It is in this paschal mystery, that redemption is found. This becomes the impetus and role of the Catholic innovator and entrepreneur– how to bring the fruits of this mystery to our world – for the love of the world.?The work of the Catholic innovator is to usher in the Resurrection and, united to Christ, to "make all things new."

1 年What humans can do is being born and die. Christmas and Good Friday were witnessed by crowds. All human beings can relate to them. Only God can incarnate and resurrect Himself. Those events were witness only by Our Lady and only for only one of the two. The importance of these two events had to be discovered by the Church later. Only the children of the Church can appreciate them.

1 年I'm so glad you started this newsletter Jason Shanks. It aligns with SENT Ventures mission. The Passion, Death, and Resurrection of Christ was/is also the story (from last week's summit) of how entrepreneurs felt at the start - where hearts (and bank accounts) ideas, and deals failed/died, which forced a surrender. In that surrender, the entrepreneur finally took up the Cross to become the success that we saw with the pitch award winners. God Bless!
