Oops, did we create yet another hype??. Thanks to Gartner and alike for creating so much of a buzz. Devops, Devsecops,Bizdevsecops and the jump to Automation,Intelligent Automation,Cognitive Automation and most recent HyperAutomation!!!!. ( hopefully we get a break for this year).
Let's understand the benefits and challenges of Devops. Devops is a culture, philosophy aimed at continous comunication, collaboration, integration and ultimately making an organization agile and more responsive to market needs where the GTM strategy is in months to weeks.
Enterprise Architecture which has focused on frameworks such as TOGAF or the Zachman framework which focussed on the enterprise ontology focused more on Enterprise Strategy and were working in silos("No Pun Intended"). IT4IT with it's four value streams was able to connect Enterprise Architecture and Devops and provided visibility into operating models
Devops is pretty successful and is an integral part of any company but it has it's own set of challenges
1.Legacy Apps-- Takes too much too much time to re-write and expensive
2. Shiny object Syndrome- Too many tools focused on delivering on narrow success, rather than the big picture.
3.Cloudy Solutions- saas solutions have focused more on business friendliness and a greater emphasis on security. Egress of data is a nightmare. Integration with saas solutions is easy but getting the right data form saas solutions is not easy
Process Automation solutions have found a way to address the gap between Legacy to Modern systems and allowing companies to be nimble and adjust to the modern needs and also address the cost concerns and remove the non value add tasks. They have embraced A.I a.k.a Intelligent Automation to improve CX and employee satisfaction.
Thus was born "DigitalOps".
DigitalOps when truly embraced has the capability to affect both the Top and bottomline of a P&L statement.
DigitalOps is not just and Intelligent BPM Solution coupled with RPA and Advanced Analytics.
DigitalOps is not just a process mining solution aimed at creating a Digital twin and doing a process discovery or comformance check.
DigtalOps is not competing with Devops or testing tools such as selenium.
DigitalOps is a True Enterprise Automation Spectrum that embraces end to end Automation to holistically support an Enterprise and make it agile.
Digitalops will have a true value when data quality is addressed and is trusted and reliable.

5 年You’ve nailed down the need of the hour to integrate Intelligent automation with over Ops ecosystem to accelerate values. Nevertheless, DevOps helped Agile movement to take the next level and believe the next movement will be #digitalops. I wrote similar article. You may refer here I just wrote an article about “Is NoOps the death of DevOps”, and I know this is something you are excited about. I hope you find it useful, and would love to know your thoughts if you have 5 5 minutes. Agenda – ? DevOps, AIOps or NoOps ? Being PM where should I focus after Agile, and DevOps movement? ? Drivers behind AIOps ? AIOps Industry Use Cases ? Conclusion: Death of DevOps or Revolution? https://www.dhirubhai.net/pulse/devops-aiops-noops-death-madan-upadhyay/?trackingId=fuU6qEHmfy75V30WUOWqug%3D%3D
