Longtime video game industry CEO John Riccitiello—a source of frequent controversy at the companies he's helmed—is leaving Unity.
Unity CEO John Riccitiello is departing Unity. The company has announced that the longtime game industry executive is stepping down as president and CEO of the 3D engine developer. According to Unity, James M. Whitehurst will assume the role of interim CEO and president of the company.
"We always want to work with people who we see ourselves working with for years to come."
The game as we know it now, a mixture of farming sim and creature collector, has gone through many iterations.
The name may have changed, but the game (and its success) stays the same.
