The Development Trend of ADSS Cable

At present, China's ADSS Optical Fiber Cable industry is introducing a large number of technologies, digesting and absorbing technologies, and independent research and development. Although it is still in its initial development,it has indeed formed a huge production capacity, and the manufacturing industry of supporting cable materials and cable equipment has also initially developed. A relatively complete production and sales system has been formed.

1. Structural characteristics ofADSS optical cable:

The ADSS cables currently produced in my country can be divided into two types: layer-stranded type and center bundle tube type.

The characteristics of ADSS cable are as follows:

1. Specifically designed for large-scale power systems, it is a fully insulated dielectric overhead optical cable.Because of the insulation, its structure does not contain any metal materials.

2. The fully insulated structure has a high withstand voltage index standard, which is very conducive to the construction of overhead power lines with live operation, and it does not affect the operation of the line.

3. First of all, it uses polyester material with high tensile strength, which can withstand strong tension,meet the large span requirements of overhead power lines, and can prevent bird pecks and man-made damage.

4. At the same time, the thermal expansion coefficient of adss optical cable is small. When the temperature changes greatly, the arc degree of the optical cable line changes very little, and its weight is light, so the changes in its ice and wind load are also small.

2. The service life of ADSS cable:

ADSS cable rack is located on high-voltage transmission lines. Its general life is 25 years and above. There are

many factors that affect its life. The main factors are:

1.The gradient of the high-voltage induced electric field near the tower changes greatly. The high-voltage induced electric field has strong electrical corrosion on the optical cable. Generally, the model used for overhead power lines of 35KV and below is PE type, and the model used for lines of 110KV and above is AT type.

2. For double-circuit poles and towers, due to power outages or line modifications in the primary circuit, consideration must be given when selecting hanging points.

3. When the line passes through corrosive working areas such as salt spray, acid gas, etc., chemical substances will react chemically, which can corrode the outer sheath of the optical cable, causing damage to its electric-resistant protective sheath and making it vulnerable to arc damage.

4. Improper construction can easily cause damage or wear to the outer sheath. When running in a long-term high-voltage electric field, its surface is easily corroded by rain and other chemical substances. However, its outer sheath is flat and smooth, which can effectively reduce the risk of electrical damage. Corrosion and other chemical attack thereby extending its service life.

Although there is currently a strong demand in the ADSS optical cable industry, due to the limitations of the product attributes of optical fiber cables, the life cycle of the optical cable itself is about 50 years. It mainly shows that large enterprises have strong market competitiveness due to their complete supporting systems and sufficient financial support, so large enterprises have strong profitability; small and medium-sized enterprises have better asset operation capabilities; private enterprises have strong marketization capabilities lts operating mechanism is relatively flexible and simple, so its development is relatively rapid. The most advantageous ones are the wire and cable manufacturers and enterprises located close to economically developed coastal areas.

Every time a product update or replacement is completed, demand will weaken significantly in a short period of time. If this trend cannot be changed, the optical fiber cable industry will slowly become dull.Therefore, China's current optical fiber and cable industry seems to be developing very well, but in other aspects The production and demand ratio of optical fiber and cable has exceeded 100%, and competition pressure is extremely high. Especially after the production capacity expansion period, the optical cable industry is likely to slowly die. Therefore, from the perspective of the long-term development trend of the optical cable industry, the future and direction of the ADSS cable industry is still a question worth pondering.
