The development program of the Eurasian Patent Organization for 2023-2028

The approval of the development program of the Eurasian Patent Organization for 2023-2028 was one of the important events in the meeting of the Administrative Council because it is believed that it will become the basis for the development of integration and innovative development of states, as well as positively affect all areas of work of the Eurasian Patent Office (EAPO), including the number of Eurasian applications submitted and issued patents before the quality and terms of examination.

The development program of the Eurasian Patent Organization includes the following areas:

1. providing high-quality products and services;
2. formation of a common information and expert space;
3. expansion of educational projects;
4. introduction of a two-level quality system;
5. conducting scientific research;
6. popularization of the regional patent system; and
7. professional development of the EAPO expert staff.

The issue of creating an Assembly of Eurasian Patent Attorneys was also considered. It is planned that the Assembly will be engaged in the development of the Institute of Eurasian patent attorneys at the regional level, that is, it will promote the interests of the professional community and improve regulatory regulation together with the EAPO.

The delegates discussed that the current pharmaceutical register of the EAPO will now become the basis for the creation of the Eurasian Pharmaceutical Register. Thus, the authorized state and judicial authorities of the member states will keep records when registering medicines, issuing permits for their introduction into civil circulation, and considering disputes about infringement of rights from the relevant patents.

During the discussion of the development program of the Eurasian Patent Organization, it is planned to expand the educational projects of the department and promote national technology parks (which seek to actively use the capabilities of the regional intellectual property protection system) for the development of regional and national legal protection systems in the EAPO member states.

In general, the development program of the Eurasian Patent Organization for 2023-2028 covers all areas of intellectual property development in the region. Of course, we believe that the official approval of the program document will significantly accelerate the development of Eurasian integration.
