The Development of Our Imagination
Imagination = Creativity = Originality = Open Mindedness
Some are more intrinsically creative than others despite the notion of being right brain or left brain dominate is largely a myth. What makes specific individuals more creative than others?
1: Bigger Risk Taker
Those individuals that are willing to roll the dice are much more open minded and generally have an outside the box perspective on things. Their willingness to accept and take risks allows them to be more creative because they don't limit their possibilities.
2: Eliminates Fear of Failure
This goes hand-in-hand with being a risk taker, but by eliminating your fear of failure it allows you to focus more of your time and efforts towards original thought. Often times we hear the term 'writers block' which can be attributed towards not being sure what to write because the individual is looking for something that will be accepted rather than being creative and doing what comes top of mind.
3: Block out all other critiques and input
If you can ignore the noise, and specifically the naysayers, your imagination will be allowed to run rampant. We limit ourselves because of perceptions and judgements of others, but those that utilize a thick skin mentality have a greater propensity to come up with original ideas because they don't get discouraged by outside opinions.
Imagination = Creativity = Originality = Open Mindedness
There's a few outside opinions on how to improve our imagination which include:

Here's three ways to boost your creativity:
1: Spend Time in Thought
Each and every day we should spend some time in thought specifically day dreaming. We should do this to the point of completely losing track of time regardless of how long the duration is because that enables us to be as accepting of our creativity everyday.
If you haven't heard of the three things we should do every day portion of Jim Valvano's infamous ESPY speech you can listen to just that part below:
2: Dream -- Dream Big
When we allow ourselves to lose track of time in thought by day dreaming we inevitability will come up with a wide array of dreams. It's important that we confide in the most supportive and understanding person we have in our circle what our dreams are in and effort positively pursue them.
3: Experience / Do Something Creative at Least Once a Week
It doesn't matter what it is we do just so long as we do something to engage our brain and creative side. This could be drawing, listening to live music, painting or even writing a letter. Just so long as it's consistently done it will help boost your imagination.
