Just finished up at the 2024 American Alliance of Orthopaedic Executives Annual Conference. It was a outstanding conference! I met many great people, doing amazing things for the industry, and working to create a better outcome for physicians, employees and, most importantly, patients. Two key statistics resonated with me and I’ll continue to process this information over the next several weeks and months. Orthopaedic Surgeon’s salary decreased by $80,000 in 2022 (average) and greater than 60% of Orthopaedic surgeons are 55+ years old. Statistics like these are not surprising; however, understanding the potential outcomes will be incredibly important. The outside forces impacting these results are complex.
