G3S Group are delighted to welcome Business Development Apprentices, Kai and Elliot, to the Customer Services Team.
G3S Group has a range of production capabilities in their Portsmouth site, which includes a water-based coating line and one of the largest conversion facilities in Europe.?The company supplies the commercial print and associated markets with both Wide Format printable materials and industry-standard Encapsulation and Digital Film for Thermal Lamination.?We employ our scientific product development expertise and industry knowledge to create a product to meet our customers’ needs.
To support our growth, we would like to introduce the new members of our Customer Service Team who are ready to help you.
Faim A. has been in the Customer Service hot seat since August, and our two new team members, Kai Powell and Elliot Lawson-Nichols , are rapidly getting to know the ropes and are working closely with customers.
Along with Managing Director Tom Powell , Group Sales Director Jamie Flannigan , is excited to see the new recruits settle in so well, “At G3S Group we’re committed to providing a great customer experience, ensuring that everyone gets exactly what they need from us. We now have a strong team, working hard to provide great service. Both Kai and Elliot are hungry to learn and it’s great to see them fitting in so well, and building strong bonds both within the company, and with our valued customers.”

Personal Background
After completing a two-year college programme in sport science, I realised I wanted to learn more about business. I am grateful to G3S Group for the opportunity to join as a Business Development Apprentice, where I can gain hands-on experience and learn the intricacies of business development.
Why Business Development?
I want to understand how businesses operate from the ground up and enjoy real-world learning over theory.
First Day at G3S Group
From day one, I felt welcomed and supported. I was introduced to the day-to-day activities, toured the offices and factory floor, and immediately felt at home due to the friendliness of the team.
Learning the Ropes
The first few weeks have been a steep learning curve as I familiarise myself with the extensive product range at G3S Group. The team has been very supportive, providing product information sheets and answering my questions. Faim, who is nearing the end of his apprenticeship, has been particularly helpful in guiding me.
Exciting Milestones
Interacting with customers from the UK and abroad has been a highlight. It's incredibly rewarding to hone my communication skills to meet customer expectations.?
Looking Ahead
As my apprenticeship continues, I'm excited to take on more responsibilities and build stronger relationships with our customers. G3S Group is an ambitious business, and I look forward to contributing to its growth by providing products customers love and excellent service.
Life Beyond Work
Outside of work, I love sports, especially football and golf. Portsmouth is my home football team, but I've also supported Crystal Palace since childhood, and I also enjoy spending time with family and friends.

Personal Background
From the age of 15 I’ve held customer-facing roles including working as a Barista and have always enjoyed engaging with customers. I approached G3S Group because I was keen to get involved in business-to-business sales, interact with customers, and learn how to best assist them.
Why a Business Development Apprenticeship?
I considered studying business at college but decided I preferred on-the-job training over sitting in a classroom.
First Day at G3S Group?
My first day was very good. I had a tour of the factory floor with Tom and Jamie, learned about vital health and safety protocols, and got an introduction to the company. I learned how the group operates under one umbrella to streamline efficiency and effectiveness, and I was introduced to the company’s goals and systems.
Initial Impressions
The team is always willing to help with any questions I have. I never feel like a burden, and if you're willing to learn, they're willing to help.
Early Learnings?
In my first few days, I learned about the call software, how to follow up with customers, and how to check in with them to ensure they have details about our newly formed group. I have also informed customers about a new offer and called them to see if they wanted to preorder products arriving the following week. I'm becoming more familiar with our product range and am excited to talk with our customers about them.
Early Challenges
A significant challenge has been building confidence on the phone and being better prepared for calls to assist customers effectively. But it’s great to get to know everyone and find out what they need to support their business.
Training and Support
The training and support have been excellent. Everyone is happy to help, knowledgeable, and all products are well-documented.
Looking Ahead
I'm looking forward to extending my product knowledge, learn more about the business and become an asset to both our customers and the company.
Life Beyond Work
Outside of work, I enjoy socialising with friends and family. I am very family-oriented and love spending time with them.
