Another week, another newsletter! I hope that you all had a great one ??

This week, I've had a great time with the kids and family. We watched a ton of movies, played together, had dinner, went out and had fun. It's the kind of week that's both calm and crazy, tiring and relaxing. And it's also exactly the kinds of joyful moments that I want in my life. It's not all about productivity, achievements and vanity numbers. Life can be surprisingly simple, yet incredibly rewarding.

The lab ??

The lab had some trouble this week. On Wednesday I put on the lights and started recording a new video for my YouTube channel . I wanted to publish it this week, but had unforeseen problems. After recording for about an hour, I plugged the camera into the computer, and then realized that the files were empty! Given that I don't follow a rigid script, but try to improvise for each section (simply following a basic outline), I was really demotivated. I had little sparks while recording, but now they're all lost forever ??. After that, I couldn't find quiet moments to record again. So, no new video this week, but I'll try again soon ;-)

On other news, I've bought a new domain name: ObsidianStarterKit.com . I've quickly set it up with Cloudflare and Carrd. My goal was twofold: finally have a more beautiful landing page for my Obsidian starter kit, and make it easier for me to move away from Gumroad at some point. Given their recent pricing changes, I'm not sure if I will continue using their service for a long time. Now that the site is live, I'm gradually going to replace the links everywhere and see how it affects my sales. Because a change like this can go both ways. Either it will convince more people, or it will kill the sales because of the new format. The thing that worries me most is that I can't easily display the number of stars people have left on Gumroad or the number of sales so far (apart from doing it statically). I'll see how this goes...

On other news, I've apparently broke a new record with Google Search:

As an Indie Hacker, I find it really important to be both transparent and honest. It's easy to look at those numbers and consider those great. But in reality, I'm still far from being able to live with my content creation activity. The bulk of the money I get each month comes from consulting and my day job. I'm also struggling to make progress on the projects I care about. But it's alright, as I have decided to optimize for happiness, not revenue. I had enough stress in my life and now I know how valuable my health and sanity are ??
