Develop Your Pre-Call Ritual & Improve Your Sales Outcomes

Could Your Emotions Affect Your Sales?

It's no secret that your emotional state can significantly impact your results—whether in client meetings, on stage, or during important conversations. Emotions are contagious; just think about how you react to a movie where the main character is emotional—like I do with Rudy, a movie that always moves me.

So, yes, how you feel before each sales call matters greatly. But don't worry; there’s a solution—what I call a PRE-CALL RITUAL. Here's what you need to know to apply this and improve your sales outcomes: Why a Pre-Call Ritual Matters:

  • Peak Emotional State: The first step in our 10-step sales process is to get into a peak emotional state. When you feel great, your results improve.
  • Emotional Contagion: Emotions are contagious. Your emotional state can influence your prospects or audience.
  • Intentional Preparation: Many coaches and speakers show up emotionally unprepared, which can negatively impact their performance and results.

What a Pre-Call Ritual Can Do:

  • Boost Confidence: Feeling confident can help you deliver your message more effectively.
  • Increase Connection: When you’re in a positive state, it helps build rapport and trust.
  • Enhance Performance: Being emotionally prepared helps you perform at your best, making it easier to connect and convert. ?

Creating Your Pre-Call Ritual:

  1. Identify Key Emotions: What three emotions do you feel when you're at your best? Write them down.
  2. Develop a Quick Strategy: What can you do in 1-5 minutes to get into that peak state??

Simple Pre-Call Ritual Ideas:

  • Prayer: Spend a moment in prayer to center yourself.
  • Deep Breathing: Practice deep breathing exercises to calm and focus.
  • Movement: Stand up, stretch, or do some light exercise to energize.
  • Visualization: Imagine a successful call, seeing the prospect’s positive reactions and your confident delivery.
  • Affirmations: Speak positive affirmations aloud to boost your confidence and clarity.
  • Gratitude: Take a moment to express gratitude for the opportunity and the person you’re about to connect with.
  • Music: Play a favorite song that lifts your spirits and gets you in the right mood.

Remember, starting with the right emotional state can significantly enhance your effectiveness. Implementing this simple step can truly transform your outcomes.
