Develop Curiosity Overload

Today is the beginning of my seven-part series to radical success.
The first step is developing curiosity overload.
As a young entrepreneur, I was always looking for what I wanted to do. What business I wanted to be in. How to get to the next step. These questions started running through my head when I was in high school, when I was in college and when I was building small businesses. All of these questions were part of me developing my curiosity overload.
There’s a step-by-step process if you don’t know what you want to do, or where to find the next home-run product, business or service.
For starters, you can — and should — go to lots of trade shows. Trade shows are crucial for a number of different reasons. Not only do they help you discover the top products/trends in any given market but they also teach you about the industry. Not to mention, networking comes into play at trade shows.
Next up, you can — and, once again, should — read as many newspapers, books and publications as possible. If you aren’t a fan of the actual act of reading, then you should still be listening to audiobooks. I personally subscribe to magazines, trade journals, newspapers, etc.
Reading is how you continue your learning on a day-to-day basis. Reading is how you find answers to your questions, how you gain knowledge, how you enhance your vocabulary, and that’s really just the beginning when it comes to the benefits of reading. Nonetheless, it is part of developing curiosity overload.
When you focus on developing this curiosity, and meeting people via networking and getting out there (via trade shows and conferences), you tend to make/create contacts and relationships. It’s part of the networking process, part of gaining some traction in the marketplace.
Successful entrepreneurs need to explore new industries, trends and ideas if they want to provide as much value as possible, and this is all part of the curiosity overload concept.
If you want to achieve a massive amount of success, then you have to be curious. You can’t afford to be passive in the business world. You have to constantly be asking questions, going to trade shows, networking, reading, etc.
Above all else, developing curiosity overload can lead to information overload, it can lead to you starting and strengthening your relationships and it can lead to radical success.
Stay tuned, as I will be dropping six more steps to radical success in the coming days!
