Voice Trader/Account Manager Region Africa

Deutsche Telekom Global Carrier is the international wholesale division of the Deutsche Telekom Group. As one of the world’s leading wholesale carriers, DTGC satisfies the requirements of Deutsche Telekom Group’s international affiliates and more than 900 external customers worldwide and serve them with a comprehensive portfolio of wholesale cross-border telecommunication services.


The Voice and Mobile (TGV) business unit of DTGC is responsible for the international voice, messaging, cloud communication and mobile roaming enablement product portfolio including International Voice Hubbing, Telco Numbers (IFS, DID and Mobile Numbers), Cloud SIP Telephony, CPaaS API exposure, Mobile Identity and A2P/P2P SMS/MMS messaging.



Account Manager/Voice Trader

We are seeking a dynamic and driven Account Manager/Voice Trader to lead our business development efforts across the African region. This role involves managing a dedicated portfolio of customers within the voice services sector, with a focus on expanding market presence and maximizing profitability in Africa through the strategic purchase and sale of services. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in the African telecommunications market, a deep understanding of international wholesale voice traffic, and a proven ability to negotiate and maintain relationships with both regional and international carriers. Fluency in both English and French is a must. A successful track record of developing and growing business in Africa is essential.

Voice Traffic Trading:

  • Engage in trading activities involving international wholesale voice traffic to achieve business goals.
  • Develop strategies to minimize costs while enhancing the quality of voice services offered.
  • Actively work towards fulfilling the business plan and achieving set financial targets.

Relationship Management:

  • Build and sustain robust relationships with national and international voice carriers.
  • Conduct negotiations regarding voice termination terms and interconnection agreements.
  • Collaborate with carriers to ensure optimal service delivery and competitive pricing.

Market Analysis & Reporting:

  • Monitor and analyze market trends in the voice services sector to inform trading strategies.
  • Prepare detailed reports on trading volumes, revenues, and profit margins.
  • Utilize market insights to support the development of new voice products.

Contract Management:

  • Implement agreed terms and conditions into contracts and ensure all amendments are negotiated effectively.
  • Oversee the execution and compliance of contracts to protect company interests.

Qualifications:

Experience & Skills:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in trading international wholesale voice traffic.
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build lasting relationships with carriers.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret market data and make informed decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and familiarity with CRM software.
