Detox with kidz
The wish to achieve your ambitious goals, most of them intrinsically and personally set by yourself, creates the energy, passion and long lasting breath to be more successful than your competition.?However, depending on how well it is going, unplanned outcomes, bad circumstances or just a too ambitious goal can lead to negative stress and the feeling that one needs to do more to achieve the set goals.?
As nearly everybody of you know already negative stress is not a good thing. A quick search on google shows even in the first hit, that the negatives are manyfold (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5579396/). While these should be already arguments enough it was discovered during my time at the german cancer research center that the chronic damping of the immune system will also significantly heighten your risk to many cancer types.
Besides your business goals several other factors can push the stress button. One I discovered myself eight years ago: kids.?
While you can find many articles and papers looking at stressed kids and the stress parents get by wanting to be good parents not many research on stress difference between parents and non-parents (https://www.researchgate.net/publication/260089185_The_Pains_and_Pleasures_of_Parenting_When_Why_and_How_Is_Parenthood_Associated_With_More_or_Less_Well-Being)?
However it is fairly easy: Think of a relaxing detox vacation at the beach with your partner. Once as a couple, the other time with two kids five and seven years old. I think you get the point.?

So what to do?
My strategy is two fold. One for the family vacations, where the beach resort honestly was not a detox for me even before the kidz. My brain got bored and I basically started working by thinking on business challenges and planning out different courses of actions.?
While I cannot provide anything in regards of vacation for kids below 4-5 years we now found something if you are into hiking and your kids are above five years. There are?several mountain pastures specialist for kids. We tried this and honestly it was the first time in years I could get more than a few hours of relaxation as the hiking and beautiful vistas kept my brain from wandering of to the business while my kids also had so much fun and were active on their own so they didn't introduced stress all the time with demands on their own.?
For the day to day relaxation I still prefer the daily 30-45min active break based on sports or hobbies which engages your brain enough to keep it on the task at hand. For example playing some music instrument or the classical tennis match. There we regularly intermix days without the kids at the nearby sauna.
If you want to achieve your goals you not only need to actively manage your business but also actively manage your personal health.
