Determinants of wellbeing and succulents

Deloitte recently released a report that dubbed three key workplace systems as "work determinants of wellbeing." Just as social determinants of health (SDOH) impact a person’s interaction with their own health and the healthcare system, work determinants of wellbeing determine how connected a person feels to their work and organization.

So what are they?

  • Leadership behaviors at all levels, from a direct supervisor to the C-suite?
  • How the organization and jobs are designed?
  • Ways of working across organizational levels?

Okay, so nothing super shocking there. Leaders, organizational structure, and job duties of course impact employee wellbeing. If your team members are unhappy at work, here are some ways to improve in these areas.

3 SOLUTIONS

Speaking of wellness at work, adding a plant or two can boost aesthetics and air quality in your office. Research by NASA (yes!) shows that houseplants can help remove up to 87% of toxins in 24 hours. And yes, the rumors about your favorite succulents are true: indoor plants can help improve concentration and productivity and reduce stress. Give your teams reason to spruce their work area with these ideas for Earth Day.
