Detecting Protein Expression Using the UVP DigiDoc-It

In the current study, the impact of diets enriched in fruits and vegetables-GrandFusion? (GF) on exercise endurance was examined in a mouse model. More specifically, investigators performed western blot analysis on skeletal muscle tissues to observe the diet impact on exercise signaling. The UVP DigiDoc-It system was used to visualize the protein expression. With its 24-megapixel resolution digital color camera, the UVP DigiDoc-It is ideal for image acquisition and documentation of gels, plates, and membranes. The system includes a hood enclosure, ethidium bromide filter, and image capture software.

The UVP DigiDoc-It UV transilluminator with camera is an affordable option for gel imaging of stained gels. Applications can be extended by adding a white light plate for colorimetric imaging or a blue light plate for excitation of gels in the 460-470 nm range. The exclusive software controls the camera functions, live preview of images, image capture,?and image enhancement. The software allows for the selection of user-defined settings and templates – as well as easy annotation, use of filters, and report generation features.
