Detailed plans unveiled for Ipswich Vision

Detailed plans unveiled for Ipswich Vision

The last few days have been extraordinary for Ipswich Vision, a transformational project bringing together Ipswich Central BID and other partners to regenerate Ipswich Town Centre.

Last Friday, Foster + Partners were unveiled as the selected architects for our new £100million+ Orwell River bridge crossing that will remove traffic from our town centre and open up new development land for homes and business

Then yesterday, partners unveiled detailed plans for a £3.5million+ investment in renewing the Cornhill Square, in the very heart of our town centre overlooked by the historic Town Hall building and the Debenhams department store. This is set to trigger new retail investment in buildings around the Square and beyond.

Together, The Vision is bringing about real, substantive and long-term change to Suffolk's County town through (1) having a detailed plan for the future and (2) having all partners signed up to that single plan and determined to deliver it.

These are exciting times! Thanks to all partners for helping to transform my home town which I've always loved, but feel incredibly proud of right now - Ipswich Borough Council, Suffolk County Council, Ipswich Chamber, University of Suffolk, New Anglia LEP, Ben Gummer MP.........and, of course, the Board of the UK's 30th BID, Ipswich Central.

Paul is there any idea on a realistic timeframe for both projects? I'm asking as an Ipswich resident as opposed to from a business perspective.
