Detached Attachment & Attached Detachment

Detached Attachment & Attached Detachment

During my coaching certification journey my Guru said the key skill a coach should have is an ability to have "Detached Attachment & Attached Detachment" at that time I thought age had caught up with him and hence the confusion between which word comes first – just speaking on a lighter note; but when one ponders over the thought you get stuck to get an answer.

Honestly this doesn't hold true only for a coach but for every relationship. As a daughter, sister, wife or a mother when I reflect back I realize a bond gets stronger when your relations know they have you to fall back on but are also aware there is only a limit till where they can come along in your journey to support you. At the end of the day its you who has to drive and survive your battle of existence.

The Ship (meaning ourselves ) should always be in touch with the Water (meaning our situation/ environment) with not letting a drop of water enter inside the ship.

A ship doesn’t sink due to the water it sinks because you let the water inside. Reflect back in life and see how many times have you let the water seep in and why? If you get answer to this simple question one’s life will be a much lesser emotional turmoil.

They say life is beautiful but its also said beauty lies in the eyes of its beholder.

Wishing all a happy and beautiful life sailing thru all tides and times of life.

Well said Anjana !! Pay attention to how you craft the ship of your life...to float and sail forth rather than wallow and sink !! We need the very water we fear, to float on it. The challenges of life make us who we are. Else its the "dry dock" or "Davy Jones locker"
