Destiny.
So what is destiny…? Months back, I was wondering why the things were happening to me, while I have had many other options opened? After a while, I got to sit and understand what has really happened for me and tried to sort out them. In the process, I got to identify that the thoughts I had earlier, the belief I had on my thoughts and the decisions I have made were responsible for what I am today and came to know it was called destiny.
In the simple sense, Destiny is the situation that comes to you which are beyond your control.
For example, you didn’t choose your parents. You were destined. Isn’t it? Do we choose? Nah.
Situations are destiny. You didn’t choose them. They come to you. You cannot control them. But your response to those situations is completely your choice. Here, response is not the destiny. What you choose is your choice and when you choose it that decides your future destiny. And there comes an adage, “Man is the creator of his own Destiny”
A situation remains the same but how you enact and respond makes the difference.
The answer according to the science of Spirituality is that in the present times 65% of our lives are ruled by destiny and 35% by willful action.
Here comes willful actions in the sense the decisions, belief and the response we make for the situations that was already destined.
For example, you have made your attempt to get into IIT but couldn’t and hence, you joined in a public university. You have a situation that is destined. Now you have a choice. A choice to work hard, to cultivate the attitude and that attitude is the choice which makes the victory comes to you right away. Even though it doesn’t come to you right away, you have sown the seed, which will pay back. The seed that is sown will certainly fructify, now, ten years down the line or later. This is why PERSISTENCE comes into picture which is very essential.
