Welcome back (future) Remote Champ ??,
Another week, another destination.
Let’s head to the UK to meet the coolest Argentinian expat there ??
?? A glimpse of what you can expect today
?? Meet Leo (??)
Leo and I met literally when I launched this newsletter. Last week, I met him for the first time on call and we had a blast. But what the hell is an Argentinian doing in the UK?
Well, a few years back, Leo’s brother moved to England. Both of them became fathers and Leo didn’t like the fact that their children couldn’t see each other more than 1x per year. So Leo and his wife took the leap and moved to London with their 1-year-old daughter and 5-year-old son.
Since then, Leo has changed jobs and now works as a Technical Account Manager at Crowdstrike, remotely. As he works 90% of the time from home, he can say he achieved what he hoped to get from working remotely: spending more time with his kids ??
?? Leo’s Remote Work tips:
? Build a daily routine that works for you
→ This goes for both the business and personal areas of your life. Make time for fitness, preferably daily, and don't forget to also eat and hydrate.
? Avoid distractions/procrastination
→ Assign deep work time slots, use a pomodoro timer, batch your email/slack/teams/social checking. Even better, keep your phone on “do not disturb”.
? Celebrate small wins
→ Sometimes you’ll fail at tips 1 & 2. That’s OK. Be kind to yourself, find your win of the day to keep you going, and get back on the wagon.
?? BONUS: to not feel lonely as a remote worker
→ Leo loves having virtual calls with his colleagues but also with his friends. From time to time, he also enjoys working at places where he is surrounded by people (not necessarily his colleagues).
?? Leo’s must-see in England:
I live in London, and my number 1 recommendation is: "Get lost walking in any park". There are amazing parks where you can recharge your energy, get loose and, get inspired too.

???? Tips to land a remote job
Another week, another tip from Kristin Vierra, the Remote Career Coach ?? to help you land a remote job and level up your remote career.
TIP OF THE WEEK:
BEWARE of remote job scams ??
Here are some warning signs ??:
1. Little information is provided on the company
2. A vague/unclear job description
3. Upfront payments - ?? Scammers will often ask you to pay a fee for training, materials, etc.
4. Requests for sensitive personal information- social security, bank account information, etc.)
5. Poor and confusing communication
Do your due diligence, and you can also check with the Better Business Bureau and other online resources for complaints about the company or job offer.
