Destination in the Gym
What’s it truly gonna take for you to get to where you wanna be in the gym? Really, if I told you that you can have your dream body or reach your dream goals today, what would that look like? As someone whose accomplished goals that I never thought possible in the gym, I can tell you that each destination is not the end. It is not the last piece you’re looking for.
I had a goal I was striving towards for 6 years (if you don’t know what those goals were at this point, go back and read my other articles lol). During that entire 6-year stretch, I was adamant that I’d calm tf down when I achieved that goal.
Let me tell you, for a while, I calmed down. But after about a month, I was like, “what’s next?” The topic of this week, Happiness is a Choice, Not a Destination, heavily applies to your workouts. Fall in love with the journey. Stick it out. That destination you think is gonna solve all of your problems isn’t gonna cut it.
Sure, you can lose all that weight or gain all that muscle, win the championship of your league or accomplish a record setting achievement in your sport. But once that time passes, then what?
What are you going to do? Here’s a lesson you should take forward from this article- enjoy the process, because if you don’t, you’re only gonna shoot yourself in the foot. You won’t fully commit and reaching the destination is gonna be a whole lot harder. I promise.
Do this for me: don’t focus on the destination, focus on the road right in front of you. Health, fitness, business. Keep going. ?
