The Desperation Trap vs. The Story That Sells

*Warning: Everything shared here is a story and an exploration of the Story Beneath The Story that will likely reshape how you see yourself, your work, and the impact you make. Proceed with awareness.

If you want a quick hack to sell your products and services to an extra 50-100 people in the next week, this might work for you.

But probably not.

"Wait…what? Why would you start a post like that?"

Because no one wants to be sold to. And yet, we all have those moments when we think, I need more clients NOW!

But pause for a second. What’s one thing we all want, no matter who we are?

To feel respected, valued, and appreciated. To work with people we admire and who genuinely care about us.

And you can’t manufacture that with a sneaky LinkedIn growth hack or a "7-word sales script" some marketing bro promises will turn you into a client magnet overnight.

Sure, manipulation works…for a while. You can trick the algorithm. You can game people’s emotions. You might even make a few quick sales.

But it won’t last.

Because when desperation is the driving force behind your marketing, your business will always cycle back to that same place—needing another hack, another trick, another sprint to chase leads.

The heart is 5,000 times more powerful than the mind (thank you, HeartMath Institute).

So why are we still trying to hack the mind when tapping into the heart is so much more powerful?

Desperation is a story. And it leaks into everything—how you position yourself, talk about your work, and even engage with potential clients (ever been pitch-slapped in a DM by someone you don’t know? Exactly.).

But there’s another way.

A story driven by clarity. Purpose. Passion. A story that magnetizes people to you—not because you forced them into a sale, but because they feel deeply connected to what you stand for and how you serve.

This story changes everything—for your clients, your business, and most of all, for you.

So, tell me…what’s the story of your business? And more importantly, is it one that attracts the people you’re meant to serve?
