Desperate Cries

The tears

The pain

Can drive you insane

Always wondering WHY?

Loved ones lost

Such a heavy cost

Tears falling 

Desperate cries 

Why does someone shoot to kill innocent people and cause so much pain?

Young or old so cold 

Lives lost in vain

Such tragedy and devastation for a flippant act in rage

If it bleeds it leads 

Such horrors on a news page 

Innocent lives cut short

It’s become normality 

We should all be living safe and free of hostilities 

Not desensitised and accepting these vile acts of terror 

Fear feeding their ultimate sick pleasure 

Radical action is NEEDED NOW

A CHANGE in the rules 

Doing nothing 

Leaves us all as idol fools 

It’s not just guns that hurt and kill

Knives are weapons too

We need a revolution to counteract these two

Old ways are tired and not working as we thought

United together we can create an onslaught

Next time it could be you or I 

In the line of fire

Or someone else you deeply love 

Cut down in their prime 

A loving heart that dies with one fatal stab or shot

No time to look back then

As they take their final breath 

That will be their lot

Future moments stolen as their bodies run cold

And your tears flow profusely as history is retold 

CHANGE must happen and it must happen fast

Let’s not leave what matters to chance 

Revisit the law books and get them written for the present day

Put measures in place to keep our people safe

There will always be a random soul that does an evil act

We can’t standby accepting that that is the fact

We must protect our families and our future generations to come

To make our regions safe and savoured by everyone xxx
