DesignJet T770 - What does "EOSL" mean?

Today we had final confirmation from HP that the DesignJet T770 has gone End of Service Life (or "EOSL" for short!)
What does EOSL mean?
It means that you can no longer purchase a HP Care Pack for this model any more. HP will only honour HP Care Packs already sold - and parts will generally be in limited supply from this point forward. HP will also no longer be manufacturing spare parts. HP drivers and firmware will no longer be updated from this point forward.
If you didn't purchase HP's own Care Pack then you will start to find parts prices begin to increase for adhoc repairs, as availability dwindles in the UK. This means when you next require a repair you should also look at the cost of replacing the printer too (to ensure you get the best return on your investment). In short, this is your 'heads up' from HP to gear up your business to replace the HP DesignJet T770 soon - ideally within a 12 month time frame (...or you can just keep paying for adhoc repairs until such time as parts completely run out!).
What else?
- Inks and Paper Supplies - You can continue using your DesignJet T770 and buying inks and media through www.hpplotter.co.uk as normal (NOTE: we're offering 5% off during February!)
- Adhoc Service/Repairs - You can contact [email protected] if you need an adhoc service or repair. We currently hold a good supply of all T770 parts and the largest stock holding in the UK. We will prioritise our spare parts for our own Support Contract customers first - so while we can still support you on an adhoc basis, there will come a point in the future where you might have to wait 5-10 days for us to secure replacement parts for you (if available). Typically 'as and when' our stocks become very low they'll be ring-fenced for our Contract customers-only. We will be reviewing our new contract intakes for the T770 model every 3 months from this point forward.
- Replacement/Refresh - If you'd like to obtain a quote to replace your existing T770 then simply contact [email protected] and we can discuss the best choice for you. Don't forget you can get CASH BACK on your DesignJet T770 (depending upon which model you purchase).
Note: The natural upgrade path for the DesignJet T770 is the DesignJet T930 but your requirements may mean another printer model is better suited for your needs.
