Madrasters hosted 13th Designer meetup yesterday in Hutaoli ( 1970 Honey Lake ) Nanshan, Shenzhen. It was a great event with 60+ participants from various design industries.
The speakers:
Tav Denkey – CEO (ahaa / Chat neighbours)
Tav Denkey, the CEO of ahaa explained how you should design UX for social networking applications. He presented a case study, illustrated the developing process of user experience and the work within the design team. He shared his problem-solving approach and expertise to developing an app from scratch. Tav ended with a great suggestion: “Don’t design things you would like, design things a 100 people would love.”
Ayu Razumova – Global e-commerce (TCL, Alcatel)
Ayu is currently working as head of the e-commerce team in TCL (Alcatel). She surprised everybody talking about experiences and lessons learned from gaming. It was the first time in our Madraster meetups we talked about gaming and no wonder. Our community has plenty of hardcore gamers. Ayu illustrated how games could improve visual attention, boost cognitive flexibility and help control your emotion.
Break time
Madrasters arranged pizza and beers for all the participants: time to think, fuel up and mingle
Josh Steimle – Founder/CEO (MWI)
Josh Steimle (Founder and CEO of MWI) shared his experience on how he got featured in over 200 articles for publications such as Forbes, Mashable, TechCrunch and Time. He also illustrated a controversial matter: “why you should not be afraid of personal branding.”
Another great event, thanks to all who joined us. Thanks to Houtali (1979 Honey Lake, Nanshan) for hosting and offer a space to Madrasters. Special thanks to our volunteers for making this meet up successful.
