Design X Digital Transformation, No-Code cleans up and the Power of the Professional.
Here's your Top 5 in #ProductDesign this week:
1. Digital Transformation with Design ????
Just came off the virtual stage at the Taiwan Design X Digital Transformation Forum, talking about building businesses with design in an ever-changing world. It was worth the 6am start!
I joined design leaders from Logitech and McKinsey & Company to share my perspective on the business value of design and how agility and speed have to be the key motivators for businesses to become ever-more customer centric.
The power has indeed moved from employer to employee with #thegreatresignation and skilled experts dictating the change they want to see. For businesses to adopt rapid decision making and flexible working styles, design thinking as a philosophy can be a powerful enabler. Often, decision makers need to be challenged on what they know and be open to challenge, with design and customer centricity creating a safer space to do that.
Who knows where the next business threat will come from? The answer isn't in your 5-year plan. It's more likely with your design talent.
2. Webflow No-Code = No-Competition ??
Webflow is eating other businesses lunch through their recent announcements at No-Code Conf 2021 including Teachable killer Webflow Membership.
It reminds me of a Matti Haapoja video where he talks about moving from fulfilling other people's dreams, to your own. The necessity of working for others is diminishing when you're able to use tools like Webflow to create monetised content channels with little barriers to entry.
My answer is do both! Work with others, but diversify your revenue stream by experimenting where the value is in what you do.
3. Cut 10 hours of Meetings and Double your Productivity ?
TL:DR ask these two questions:
Even at today's design conference, the question of how to adapt established activities such as meetings came up.
My take: There's a nostalgia to them. People feel like it's the right thing to do. I prize "together time," so identify the only opportunities where that has to happen.

4. New Coaching Sessions to Help Prep for What's Next ??
You can ask me anything related to a design workshop you have planned, a presentation you want to make, a Design Sprint proposition or advice on growing sales andyour design career.?
5. Autonomous Teams are Anarchists at Heart ??
"Autonomous teams may be an efficient way for teams to achieve goals for sure, but they are so much more. They are the corporate representation of the rebellious streak that runs through so many who work in tech. They are the embodiment of anarchy dressed up in appropriate office attire."
