Once I was having a brainstorming session with my friends on a case study competition, there was a lot to be solved keeping in mind the environmental, social, and governance aspects of the problem. We all were confused about how are we going to cater and approach this problem which should be very much inclusive from different perspectives. That was the time I heard the term "Design Thinking" and a voice why can't we use it.
Design thinking is a term used to represent a set of cognitive, strategic, and practical processes by which design concepts proposals for products, buildings, machines, communications, etc. are developed. Design thinking is also known as "Out-of-box thinking"
Structured steps involve:
The unique approach of design thinking helps to empower the mindset of businessmen and entrepreneurs as well. Observing and navigating the thoughts creates mindfulness. The innovative idea through design thinking offers practically viable, technically feasible, and emotionally desirable solutions too.
Businesses on other hand get a perfect road map and a blueprint of challenges ahead by applying design thinking. This makes companies far ahead of the competition and maintains the market leader's positions.
Design thinking is not limited to business and entrepreneurs only but also to creative employees, freelancers, and leaders who seek to inculcate this art upon entry to any organization be it product or services. This ultimately derives new alternatives for business and society.
Hence, thinking through the lens of design helps to solve complex problems and offers better alternative solutions that society and business faces.
