Design Technolgogy Throwdown

At this year's Architecture Boston eXpo / GreenBuild co-located conference, we will be unveiling a brand new event called the Design Technology Throwdown.

Architecture, engineering, and construction offices are encouraged to form a team of up to 4 members to compete head-to-head against other companies. A specific building site and all accompanying constraints will be provided 24 hours in advance of the competition. Starting on Thursday, November 9 at 12:30pm everyone will have exactly 4 hours to create a design response for the given site. At 4:30pm sharp teams will have up to 5 minutes to present their design to a panel of three expert judges then one design will be chosen as the 2017 Design Technology Throwdown Champion!

As the name suggests, we want to celebrate the technological expertise currently flourishing in the AEC industry and we request that teams select for a strong balance of design intuition and tech strategy. Since ABX is partnering with GreenBuild this year, extra consideration will be given to final designs that incorporate environmental analysis and sustainable design strategies.

• 12:30pm-4:30pm -- Design Competition
• 4:30pm-5:30pm -- Presentations, Judging, Awards
• The entire competition will take place at the Boston Convention Center
• Presentations and awards will be featured on the Learning Stage
