Design with the mining and processing sector in mind

In the last few weeks, I’ve had interesting discussions with customers in the mining and process sector.

They’ve reiterated that electrical, machine and panel building design are key elements of the overarching plant engineering process. They’re always looking out for solutions and tools that will help them streamline their engineering designs, and many of them are turning to design software (like Eplan’s solutions).

Here’s why:

  • Eplan software shortens the design timeline: The software offers a range of tools and templates, macros and libraries which speed up the design process. In Electric P8, for example, the user has access to libraries with common symbols for electrical design (e.g. motors, fuses and switches). When these symbols are placed, they act as data sets, carrying all the information needed for an accurate electrical design. The user simply drags the required symbol into the circuit diagram and the software takes care of the rest, adding the connecting lines automatically.
  • Eplan software delivers design that meets industry standards and codes.
  • Eplan software reduces error: The software makes component selection and labelling easier. Plus, it automatically checks the design for errors (such as missing part numbers or duplicates), making it possible to resolve the errors early in the design phase.
  • Updates and edits are seamless, with Eplan software: It’s easy to make updates or changes and generate a new design quickly.

?Be it an electrical distribution design or a panel build, Eplan software solutions ensure the generation of designs that help mining and processing operations achieve their efficiency and sustainability goals.

I remember myself doing low voltage drawings for BelAZ career machines in 2006 on paper so EPLAN now sounds good for me ??
