Since the publication of the last #DesignInTech Report at SXSW, our world’s seen a lot of change. So I’m wondering if the big surge we saw for design in the last few years in the tech industry is a sustaining phenomenon, or whether it has simply morphed into something else?—?or else it’s simply cooled down.
So, we’ve expanded the general contributor survey for the 2017 #DesignInTech Report to include queries created specifically for independent contractors and folks who are working in agencies (vs just tech companies). And we hope to find out whether design is cooling down, or still simmering hot, or maybe it’s experiencing some sort of phase change.
Let’s find out!

8 å¹´Design how do you define it? I know I have a definition of it https://tinyurl.com/hpwb5mv . Tech another abused word how do you define that? The prospects of design work are infinite. If you are only in one little orbit mastering the "app" of the day then well uhm, I was a Novell Netware systems administrator back in '91 think that is a hot trending occupation? So my assessment is its red hot as long as you got the goods.
Walking the earth. You know, like Caine in "Kung Fu." Just walking from place to place, meeting UX people, getting in adventures.
8 å¹´Always look forward to this report and will be contributing shortly. But I wonder... what exactly does "cooling down" (or "simmering hot") refer to here? Is it a surge in hiring? Revenue for the design industry? Positioning of "design" as a primary business initiative and sales hook? Prominence in business/media discussions?
