Design Basics of BMS Workshop
Dear Fellow Engineers, Consultants, Architects, and Contractors
Here is a video sharing of my recent consultant's training on “Design's Basic of BMS (Building Management System) ” workshop
As requested, i have split up the full-day training into multiple small bytes Video Sesssion.
If you are working from home and wish read up the application of BMS design and architecture hope this technical sharing can give you a headstart.
Content for Chapter 1 of the Training:
- Introduction to DDC (Direct Digital Controllers) and I/O (Input Output) Modules of BMS
- How BMS interface with Field Equipment eg: Sensors, Transducers
- Common BMS Protocol eg: Bacnet, Modbus, etc..
Content for Chapter 2 of this Training:
- Detail of Lonworks, Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP, Bacnet MSTP, Bacnet IP
- Forming up a basic BMS architecture with Enterprise Server, Report Servers, Power Monitoring Workstation, etc..
- Simple interfacing model with mechanical equipment such as VRV, FCU, AHU, etc..
Content for Chapter 3 of this Training: focuses on various ACMV I/O mapping for BMS
- Detail I/O mapping for AHU (Dampers, Actuators, Control Valves,etc..)
- Detail I/O mapping for FCU (Chill water valves, thermostat, etc..)
- Detail I/O mapping for Fans (Eg: Exhaust Fans) (Fan Speed Status, inlet air temperature, etc..)
- Importance of GUI in Workstation and how it reduce troubleshooting time
Content for Chapter 4 of this Training: Deep Dive into Mechcanial Equipment Breakedowns in I/Os
- Deep Dive into AHU components and Status in order to form up a comprehensive I/O Chart
- Filter Dirty Alarms, Off Coil Temp, CO2 Sensing, Fresh Air Damper Modulation, etc..
- Deep Dive into FCU components and Status in order to form up a comprehensive I/O Chart
- Chill Water Intake, Return Chill Water Temp, VAV Damper Control, Motorized Valve Control, etc..
- Deep Dive into Chillers components and Status in order to form up a comprehensive I/O Chart
- BTU meters, Condenser Flow Rate, Condenser Water Temp, etc.
- Deep Dive into IO mapping for HRW (Heat Recovery Wheel), Exhaust Fan, SFAF (Smoke Fresh Air Fan) & SSF (Smoke Still Fan) - for Carpark planning for IO point counts
For the rest of the Singapore Standards Training that I have done in the past, are all available on this channel. I hope my sharing is a value-add to your design work and installation to create a safe working environment.
