The Desi farm

The Desi farm

A desi farm story - part 1

Radha the cow was grazing and seemed to be happy. She too was “locked in” during the past 3 months. Gauri the goat was curious and asked her why she seem so pleased. “I am sure that there going to be an increased demand for Milk and manure post COVID”, she quipped.

Frankly could not fault her. Every person today is forecasting an increased demand for his product... Security/cloud/blockchain... Everybody is assuming that there is a COVID-2.

Should not we be working on COVID situation not repeating..and if one succeeds...What will Radha do ???

The Desi farm - Part 2

Radha(cow) was looking visibly annoyed today. She was cursing Bhola, the horse, who was the leader of the farm. Gauri (goat) , heard her from her enclosure. Bhola was respected and generally a very sensible person.

"What is with bhola, Radha" ? Gauri asked.

He thinks, that we need to be "engaged" !.

"Meeti (the donkey) has been urging everybody to join for singing or tap dancing every other day. It has been some time since I have spend so much time with bittu (her calf) and that is motivating enough. Meeti and her antics are starting to annoy me now".

"I guess, everybody is trying to do their best, given the situation.Maybe they are overdoing certain things. Let me anyway pass the message to Bhola", quipped gauri.

"I too am yearning to go to the meadow everyday to graze and work with everybody. But I have to admit that I am enjoying my time with bittu too. Lets see what the future holds", she sighed.

PS : The situation that we are in does not have a cook book. Everybody is trying to react with the best of intentions. Are we getting some of it wrong. What is the feedback mechanism. How are we compensating/correcting. Go ahead and help Bhola.

Desi farm 3 - Radha (cow) has been visiting the meadow couple of days a week. The demand for milk was not picking up. Bhola (The horse / leader) was starting to lose his temper for just about every silly reason. Nathu the owner of the farm had recently brought a very large meadow. Most of the other large farms used this meadows for feeding their inmates. Nathu was betting on a large income from here. He too was worried as the larger farms had started building or looking out for their own meadows. Miti's (the donkey)key role was to keep count of inmates coming in and going out. Nathu was putting pressure on her to let go of some inmates. She knew that sending somebody out means end of the road for them as they eventually ended up under the knife.

PS : Situations like these put you on crossroads. Do you cut cost, conserve cash and wait it out or do you use the opportunity to plan a big move and make some mega investment decisions.
