'Descending' Into Writing:

?? Whether it's Descendents' Day (last Sun. in June)...or Family Day in Feb. or Legacy Day in May...

Perhaps this year/next year is the time to start doing research on your family tree and your own offspring - and write something that new and future generations can enjoy/take to heart (if reading as we know it is still a thing!)

As a writer, editor and book consultant, I occasionally find myself working, with much fascination, on a client project meant to join generations, or shed light on the past, or planned as a gift for a son or daughter.

?? One such project was a very moving one, re: a divorced father in ill health, who wanted to leave something about the history of his family - along with lots of fun stories! - to his child.

Another client, a phenomenal fiction writer with an entire series of YA fantasy novels, actually wrote his granddaughters into the books, as the resourceful heroines - as a unique legacy for them.

?? But even if you don't have offspring-and-more in your own life, you can share with what family you do have - or with the friends who have become your 'family.'
