Trinity College’s Pathways School is located within the broader University of Melbourne campus precinct in Parkville.

Nestled amongst beautifully manicured grounds and surrounded by magnificent historical buildings, the Pathways School is paradoxically cosmopolitan and contemporary, epitomising the emphasis on breadth and depth. Cutting-edge facilities embody a forward thinking, inclusive and bespoke curriculum and pedagogical ethos. A program fostering innovation and nurturing talent provides new opportunities to a diverse learning community of 1200 high achieving international students aged between 16-19 years old.

The Deputy Dean (Pathways School) is a new position that oversees, manages and guides School operations and is a key member of the Pathways School Executive Team. Reporting to the Dean, the Deputy administers and manages the functions, frameworks, policies and procedures of a world-class education institution. Assisted by several direct reports, the role is responsible for best practice across staffing, students, finances, curriculum, academics and wellbeing. Deputising for the Dean, the position is a crucial touchpoint between all manner of departments and teams across campus, as well as external including suppliers, agents, government agencies and relevant associations.

Personifying the learner attributes and mindsets, the Deputy Dean leads the school community with heart, head and hand, intimately understanding the correlation between wellbeing, context, content and learning outcomes. The divergent thinking and solutions focused professional navigates challenge and complexity with broad intellect, sanguineness, dexterity and nous. The successful applicant is warm, sincere, and engaging, able to guide others with unassuming sophistication and reassuring confidence. The Deputy Dean intuitively and intellectually recognises synergies in order to activate the potential in, and possibilities for, all.

This is a five year fixed term contract, preferably starting early 2024 (though negotiable). The position attracts a remuneration package commensurate to experience and qualifications. Applicants must have a right to work in Australia. Experience in a Tertiary setting is advantageous. Experience across educational settings is preferred.
