DEPRESSION DOESN'T TAKE A HOLIDAY

DEPRESSION DOESN'T TAKE A HOLIDAY

Stephanie looked like she had it all, but 24 hours a day, seven days a week, she couldn't shake her depression.?

She said, "Sometimes holidays are the worst because I'm supposed to celebrate with friends and family. I feel ashamed that inside, I feel hopeless and lonely."

Stephanie, a talented and accomplished lawyer, suffered with chronic depression.?

Her days were filled with high-stakes cases, demanding clients, and constant pressure to excel.?

From the outside, she appeared to be the epitome of success.?

However, beneath her polished exterior, Stephanie battled with chronic depression.

Her depression seemed to follow her like a persistent shadow.

Stephanie often felt overwhelmed by a deep sense of hopelessness and helplessness despite her professional achievements.?

Stephanie Realizes She Must Overcome Her Depression

The weight of her responsibilities, her career's relentless demands, and her family responsibilities created a darkness she couldn't shake off.?

  • No matter how hard she tried to shake it off, the cloud of depression refused to dissipate.
  • Stephanie's days were a constant struggle. She recalled how, once a vibrant and energetic lawyer who could face any foe, she now felt drained and fatigued.
  • She felt unable to find joy in the things she used to love. Her evenings and weekends were filled with anxiety. She couldn't enjoy her family.
  • The weight of depression made even the simplest tasks feel insurmountable, leaving her feeling trapped in a cycle of despair.
  • Stephanie sometimes wondered why she couldn't simply snap out of it. She questioned herself, her abilities, and her worth.?

The discrepancy between her professional success and internal battles only intensified her confusion and self-doubt.

Stephanie Realized She Was Not Alone

One day, Stephanie met with me for a coaching session. She shared her story with me and expressed her desire to find ways to manage her depression and improve her overall well-being.?

We talked about her goals, her challenges, and her strengths. I listened to her with compassion and understanding, and I shared with her my battle with depression.

My Story

I said to Stephanie,?

"I know how you feel. I've been there. The darkness, the hopelessness, the weight of despair is like an anchor dragging you down.?
I know the feeling of waking up each day with nothing to look forward to. I understand the belief that you'll never feel "normal" again.

There Is Hope

But there is hope. I found my way out and can help you find your way out too.?

I've dedicated my life to helping lawyers like you heal from depression. I know what you're going through and how to help you.

Stephanie Gains The Strength to Overcome Her Depression

  1. We found the root of her depression that was deeply hidden.
  2. Next, our coaching sessions taught Stephanie to identify triggers and develop coping mechanisms.?
  3. She also learned to set boundaries and prioritize her self-care.?
  4. As she began implementing these changes, she noticed a gradual improvement in her mood and energy levels.?
  5. She also began to feel more confident and in control of her life.

Light At The End of the Tunnel

Stephanie's coaching journey was not always easy, but it was ultimately very rewarding.?

She learned how to manage her stress and anxiety.

She learned to become proactive with her depression and head it off at the pass.

Stephanie says, "It is so wonderful to enjoy waking up in the morning. To have a spring in my step and to actually enjoy my practice again.

I am much more productive, accomplish more, and have the energy to enjoy my husband and children again."

Stephanie's story is a reminder that depression is a real illness and we want to exercise compassion, especially with ourselves but with others.

Depression is not insurmountable but please don't struggle alone.?

When I see Stephanie thriving in her life and law practice, it gives me such joy.?
