Denver’s ‘hottest’ 2016 neighborhood is probably not where you’d think
"Late last week, online real estate company Redfin came out with its predictions of the nation’s hottest neighborhoods in 2016.
To come up with its “hottest” neighborhoods list, Redfin said it “analyzed hundreds of millions of page views to Redfin.com and homes that users favorited to monitor for price and status changes. The analysis also takes into account insights from Redfin real estate agents who specialize in neighborhoods across these 31 major U.S. metros.”
And in Denver, the “hottest” neighborhood in 2016 will be Barnum, in west Denver.
Barnum is bordered on the north by Sixth Avenue, on the east by Federal Boulevard, on the south by Alameda Avenue, and on the west by Perry Street.
Why Barnum? “With amazing views of the city from Barnum Park and plenty of restaurant options along Federal Boulevard, this neighborhood offers a lot for people looking to buy a 1950s-era single-family home close to downtown,” according to Redfin agent Megan Leddy, in a statement.
Apparently, people love living in the Barnum neighborhood so much that they don’t want to sell their homes. The Redfin site lists only two available homes for sale in the Barnum neighborhood as of Monday morning.
Redfin predicted Denver’s other two “hot” neighborhoods in 2016 will be Cheesman Park and Washington Park West.
In December, Redfin said Denver’s most “competitive” neighborhood was North Denver…” (Denver Business Journal)
