Density and Distancing

Efficiency has been a factor which is an underlying principle of designing so far, this metrics got challenged when COVID 19 pandemic changed the workplace forever.

When masks, screening, boundaries and distance came in picture density took a back seat.

Need to retrofit spaces has been called out focusing on health, safety and confinement. The priority shifted and so does the definition of interiors and architecture.

Resilient as we are, thriving is the only option as we look beyond. Organizations are choosing their own strategies to bring normalcy in their new defined operations protocol. Space designing will take up a new lenses and look at spaces like never before

Safety and hygiene, how it is brought and inculcated in designing while designers conceptualize the spaces. Being a social animal, the need of interaction is acknowledged in designing while keeping in mind distances and density. Decentralization is looked upon as an opportunity to decrease risk and increase comfort for workforce. These new normal of commercial spaces designing is asking us to design ecosystems which are safe and stimulating.
